He was predeceased by: his parents, William John Pal and Esther Meize Pal; his son William John Pal; his sister Esther; his brother-in-law S. F. Dutch Rohling; and his son-in-law Ronald "Buddy" Chadwick Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Betty Joiner Pal; and his children, Charlene Neal (Shelby Cavalier), Judy Chadwick, Cynthia Braase Bergeron (Jerry Bergeron), Delores Travis (Donnie Travis), Angel Robertson Robertson (Kenny Robertson) and Charles Joseph Pal (Brenda). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
