He was predeceased by: his parents, Joab Cotten and Elizabeth Cordova Cotten; his former wife Marie E. Cotton; his wife Jenny Cotton; and his siblings, Arthur Cotton, Bessie Hays, Joab Cotton, Jr., James Cotton, Brandon Cotton, Elizabeth "Cutie" Leach, Theodore Cotton, Pete Cotton, Jack Cotton, Huey "Boe" Cotton, Gene and Jane Cotton.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ray Cotton and JoEvelyn "Dolly" Miller; his children, Richard Cotton and Candace McWaters; his grandchildren, Kami Cotton Floyd (Jason), Stephanie Rushworth (Gary) and Meagan Maudlin (Nate); and his great grandchildren, Stafford Floyd, Jack Floyd, Mason Floyd, Paxton Maudlin and Liam Maudlin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
