She was predeceased by: her parents, Hayes J Whitney and Maude Bergeron Whitney; her husband George Balsar Schwartz; and her siblings, Hayes Whitney Jr., Roberta Farris, Barbara Davis, Bessie Waguespack, Virginia LeMaire (Tootie), Jeanne Broussard, James Whitney, Louis Whitney, Evelyn Pike and Mae Saia.
She is survived by: her children, George Schwartz Jr. (Kim), Jean Elliott (Bob), Julie Alverson (Steve) and Ruth Andry (Theo); and her siblings, Margaret Granberry, Catherine Theriot, Judy Guidroz, Rose Long, Anne Gueniot, Anita Kelpsch and Milton Whitney (Bud).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
