She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Tipton and Joyce Harvey Tipton; her siblings, Elvis Tipton and Rebecca Ann Tipton; and her former husband Herbert Sams.
She is survived by: her husband Herb; her sons, Judge Lewis O. Sams (Laura) of Coushatta, LA and Dr. Bradley Sams (Sheli Sams) of Ocean Springs, MS; and her grandchildren, Dr. Hanna Sams, John Lewis Sams (Hannah), Peyton Christopher Sams and Avery Catherine Sams.
The family has chosen not to have a visitation and have the private service only due to the rapidly increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
