He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Cosey and Clara Smith Cosey; and his wife Williemae Cosey. He is survived by: his grandson Jacquel Cosey; his children, Bernice Vinnette, Michele Johnson, Douglas Cosey, Jr., Vanessa LaBranche and Stacie Cosey; and his siblings, Claire Power (William) and Danny Smith (Glenn Love). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater Golden Grove Baptist Church (127 S Mulberry St, Gramercy, LA 70052). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at the St. John Memorial Gardens (2205 W Airline Hwy, Laplace, LA 70068).
