She was predeceased by: her husband William McQuater "Sonnie" Grover; her parents, Peter "Pierre" Mason, Sr. and Mary Julia Burkley Mason; her brothers, Clarence Mason, Sr., Louis Mason, Peter Mason, Jr., Roland Mason, Sr., Adam Mason, Alvin Mason, Sr., Raymond Mason and Henry Mason; her grandparents, Louis and Ophelia Burkley; her parents-in-law, Sam McQuarter, Sr., Robert Grover, Sr., Fannie Grover and Ella Scott; her siblings-in-law, Sam McQuarter, Jr., James Scott, Howard Bell, Sr., Leroy Grover, Sr., Laddie Mason, Ruth Scott, Elizabeth McQuarter, Bernice Mccollum, Millie Bell, Rose McQuarter, Bernadette Sanders and Ella Colelman; and also Diandra Grover.
She is survived by: her children, Delean Nelson (Alfred), Valerie McKinney (Mervin), Donna Grover of Reserve, LA, Roxanne Grover and Terreke Grover, Sr. (Phaedra) of Laplace, LA; her siblings, Joean Mason of Reserve, LA, Alexander Mason (Veronica) of Reserve, LA, Royal Mason of Laplace, LA and Wilfred Michael Mason (Waddie) of Mobile, AL; her siblings-in-law, Shirley Mason, Lutha Mason, Yvonne Mason, Hattie Mason, Dorothy McQuarter, Helen Seiber, Gloria Williams Sr. (Harold), Janet Bourgeois (Murray), Ernestine Johnson, Estelle Kennard (Ulysses), Litton McQuater, Sr., Charlie Grover, Sr. (Betty), Richard Grover, Sr. (Annie Mae), Robert Grover (Ollie), Stanley Grover (Lynette) and Howard McCullum, Sr.; her grandchildren, Nakemah Grover, Natasha Taylor (Gerald), Nakesha Nelson, Diandra Galmon VII (Chris), Darren Jasper, Jr. (Shana), Quinn McKinney, Sr. (Maya), Sheniqua McKinney, Shannon Grover (Antoinisha), Shonna Grover, James Mitter, Destiny Walker, Albert Robertson III, Riandra Grover, Terynek McGrew (Jovan) and Terreke Grover, Jr.; and her godsons, Howard Mason, Sr. and Perry Mason, Sr.. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater New Plymouth Rock Baptist Church (110 NW 13th St, Reserve, LA 70084). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Louisiana National Cemetery (303 W Mt Pleasant Zachary Rd, Zachary, LA 70791).
