He is survived by: his sons, Joe Carter of West Monroe, Gary Chowns of Atlanta, GA and Kevin Chowns of West Monroe; and his brothers, Gene Chowns (Jeanette), Greg Chowns (Rocio), Tracy Chowns (Darlene) and Stacy Chowns. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
