He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra Lynette Smith Walters; his son Joshlin Walters; his parents, Wiley Walters and Cleopatra Walters; and his brothers, Robert Paul Walters, Alvin Joe Walters and Garland Walters.
He is survived by: his son Gordon L. "Gordy" Walters, Jr. (Christine) of Fort Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Brandon Walters, Gavin Walters, Joshlyn Elizabeth Walters, Brynnly Walker and Bailey Walker; and his siblings, William Walters and Betty Hamaker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
