He is survived by: his wife Laverne Meeks of Rayville, LA; his children, Richard Earl Meeks (Debbie) of Gilmer, Kenneth Marshall Meeks (Zoe) of Shreveport, LA, Jolynn Meeks and John Fernandini of Tampa, FL; and his grandchildren, Bo Meeks (Robin), Sonia Burleson (Jeremy), Pat Roberts (Jason), Jesse Hill (Matt), Ricky Joe Meeks (Lacey), Neal Papin and Jennifer Papin. He is also survived by grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
