She was predeceased by: her son George D. Briggs; her grandchildren, Ricky Briggs, Jr. and Amanda Claire Briggs; her parents, Lloyd Andrus, Sr. (Marie Halphen Andrus) and Hazel Fontenot Andrus; and her brother Donald Andrus.
She is survived by: her husband George Briggs of Rayne; her sons, Ricky Briggs (Sonya Briggs) of Rayne, Kevin Briggs (Jennifer Briggs) of Lafayette and Blaine Briggs (Liz Briggs) of Baton Rouge; her daughter-in-law Laurie Briggs of Baton Rouge; and her siblings, Cindy Cuccia (John Cuccia) of Lafayette, Lloyd Andrus, Jr. of Lafayette and Kim Andrus (Paula Andrus) of Carencro. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
