It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheila Istre of Rayne, Louisiana, who passed away on March 8, 2025, at the age of 56, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Clarence J. Meche; her brothers, Mark and Mickey Meche; her mother-in-law Linda D. Istre; her nephew Ryan Richard; and her brother-in-law Michael Mouton Sr..
She is survived by: her husband Barry Istre of Rayne; her son Barrett Istre of Rayne; her mother Barbara Nell Meche of Rayne; her father-in-law Ervis J. Istre Sr.; her sisters, Marlene Richard (Raymond) of Carencro and Betty Mouton of Bayou Chicot; her nephews, Michael Mouton Jr., Dancie of Bayou Chicot, Mark Mouton, Kim of Pine Prairie and Kasey Richard (Brittany) of Arnaudville; and her pets, Hoss, Dolly and Oscar Istre. She is also survived by great nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Duhon Funeral Home - Rayne (900 E Texas Ave, Rayne, LA 70578). A rosary was held on Tuesday, March 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
