He was predeceased by: his wife Josephine "Joey" Landry Chatelain; and his parents, Martin Chatelain and Myrtle Descent Chatelain. He is survived by: his sons, Martin "Trey" Chatelain, III (Erin) of Lafayette and Walter "Wally" Chatelain (Sarah) of Lafayette; his granddaughter Emma Chatelain of Lafayette; and his siblings, JoAnn Chatelain Dupuis (Ralius) of Roberts Cove, Cathy Chatelain of Rayne, Christine Chatelain Guilbeau (Kent) of Cecilia, Glenn Chatelain (Heather) of White Oak, TX and Samuel Chatelain of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
