Francis Chiasson Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel of Rayne, LA for Francis Chiasson, 82, who died at 10:34 a.m. Thursday, January, 20, 2022 at his residence in Rayne.

Deacon Byrne Winn will officiate the funeral service and the burial will follow in the Saint Theresa Mausoleum in Duson. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Chiasson was born January 13, 1940 in Duson, LA to Odell and Lula Desormeaux Chiasson. He was a master diesel mechanic most of his life.

He is survived by a son, Clyde Chiasson (Darlene) of Rayne; 2 daughters, Lori C. Majcina (Bob) of Grand Coteau and Alena C. Hebert (Tab) of Lafayette; 1 sister, Brenda Derouen (Steve) of Church Point; 2 brothers, Wilson Chiasson (Judy) of Cankton and Dalton Chiasson (Barbara) of Duson; 8 grandchildren, Chassity VanderHorst (Ben), Casey Malbrough (Matt), Tawaski Chiasson, Jeremy Chiasson, Cody Dugas (Alyssa), Courtney Majcina (Shannon), Ashley Thibodeaux (Clair) and Kylar Hebert (Carin) and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roy Joseph Chiasson and a brother, Terry Lee Joseph Chiasson, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Chiasson, Dalton Chiasson, Lee Chiasson, Tab Hebert, Mike Chiasson and Cody Dugas. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Majcina, Wilson Chiasson, Steven Derouen, and Nelson Bourque.
