With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Prejean Stelly DeRouen (Rayne, Louisiana), who passed away on June 26, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rene' Prejean and Clara Winnie Lyons Prejean; her husband Howard Joseph DeRouen, Jr.; her daughter Clare "Lynn" Stelly Credeur; her grandson-in-law Jeffrey Hammonds; her siblings, James Prejean (Eura), John Ray Prejean (Elvina), David N. Prejean (Verda) and Marie Elena Prejean Saucier (J. L.); and the father of her children Marion J. Stelly.
She is survived by: her children, Brian A. Stelly (Janice), Dianne S. Besse (Peter), Alane S. Gary (Blake) and Perry L. Stelly; her grandchildren, Derek J. Stelly (Lindsey), Jonathan Besse (Dani Boudreaux), Blaine Gary (Allison), Olivia, Noah Stelly, Charlotte, Caroline, Catherine, Cassidy Dore', Mia Besse, Bryce, Taylor, Jake Gary and Finn McLaughlin; her son-in-law Roland Credeur (Susan); her stepchildren, Eurella D. Cahanin (Keith), Bertha "Vickie" D. Besse (Pierre), Howard J. DeRouen, III (Tina) and Dee DeRouen (Amy); and her nephews, Johnny Prejean, Tommy Prejean, Jeffrey Prejean, Rene'Prejean, Carl Prejean, Charlie Prejean, Donavon Broussard, David Broussard, Lane Broussard and James Broussard. She is also survived by 18 step grandchildren, 33 step great grandchildren and 5 step great great grandchildren.
