She was predeceased by: her husband Jimmy "Bubba" Smith, Jr.; her mother Margaret Meyer Simpson; her close friend Carl Thibodeaux; and her grandparents, John K. Meyer, Anna Marie Habetz Meyer, Herbert Paul Simpson and Verna Mae Gilbert Simpson.
She is survived by: her father Charles Simpson (Bonnie) of Mire; her brother Timothy "Tim" Simpson of Rayne; her half-sister Bridget Simpson Poole (Matt) of Lafayette; and her children, Brayden Poole, Charlie Poole and Jack Poole. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
