He was predeceased by: his son Jude Stelly; and his parents, Walter Stelly and Polly Arceneaux Stelly. He is survived by: his wife Susan Fisette Stelly of Rayne; his children, Lisa Stelly Blanchard (Keith Blanchard), Bryan Stelly (Elizabeth) of Rayne, Joshua Stelly and Jarritt Stelly (April Stelly); and his siblings, Patsy Stelly Guidry (Carl "Boo" Guidry) of Rayne and Mike Stelly (Michelle Thibodeaux) of Rayne. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
