He is survived by: his wife Sherry Miller Dowden; and his children, Ronald E. "Spud" Dowden, Jr. (Andressa) of Ragley, Durwin D. Dowden (Gwen) of Ragley and Shandel Bailey (Norman) of Dry Creek. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
