He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitchell Pitre and Leola Hill Pitre; and his grandson Barrett Istre. He is survived by: his wife Joy Reeves Pitre; his daughters, Donna Istre and Sheila Hanks; his stepchildren, Valerie Savoie, Jack "Marty" Savoie, Jesse "Rusty" Savoie, Vanessa Savoie and Laura Hanchey Hall; his siblings, Wayne Pitre and Linda Smith; and also Donnie Cameron. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
