He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Fontenot and Annie Fontenot (Ewing); his sisters, Shirley Bruce (Fontenot) and Deborah Ann Wood (Fontenot); and his nephew Troy Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Hollier Fontenot; his children, Charles Fontenot (Alanna), Amanda Smith (Brant) and Lori Israel (Brock); his grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Ethan Fontenot, Kinlee, Kohen Smith, Eli Thibodeaux, Jacob Israel (Melaina) and Jalynn Israel; his great grandchildren, Sawyer and Parker Israel; and his siblings, Joyce Canter (Fontenot) and Keith Fontenot (Cindy).
