He was predeceased by: his mother Lydia Griffin; his son Max D. Chavez; and his brothers, Max "Dede" Clements and Ruben Chavez. He is survived by: his children, Ronald J. Chavez Jr. (Joni), Sebastian P. Chavez and Chryshonda LaBiche (Fabian); his father Nelson Griffin; and his siblings, Roby Chavez, Nelson Griffin Jr., Nathan Griffin, Rubette Chavez, Nanette Duong and Paulette Griffin. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
