He was predeceased by: his parents, Elijah Kennedy and Lois Smith Kennedy; his former wife Gertrude "Peggy" Chelette Kennedy; his sons, Timothy Kennedy and Randy Knighten; his daughter-in-law Lynn Burns Kennedy; his grandchildren, Timothy Kennedy Jr., Thomas Kennedy, Shirley Kennedy and Amanda Kennedy; and his brother John Kennedy (Sambo).
He is survived by: his wife Texie Korn Kennedy; his children, Mike Kennedy (Kristie) of Arcadia, Sam Kennedy (Mary) of Dunlap, Linda Mcnutt of Quitman, Danee Lewis (Christopher) of Choudrant and Anita Hartis (Brent) of Danville; and his siblings, James Kennedy (Jill), Ronnie Kennedy (Melody), Shirley Williams (Bruce), Barbara Hawthorne (Floyd) and Sally Kennedy. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 44 great grand-children, and 1 great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and his church family.
