He was predeceased by: his wife Johnnye Carol Cooper (Thrift); his parents, William Bond and Bertie Lee Cooper (Andrews); and his siblings, Billy Cooper and Kathleen Hansen.
He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Carol Silmon (Liz); his grandchildren, Sara Elizabeth Stewart and Chandler Gray Silmon; his great grandchildren, Jensen Avery Stewart and Paisley Gray Silmon; and his sisters, Mary Hines of Spartenburg, SC and Carolyn Staggs of Quitman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
