She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Wayne Holeyfield; her parents, Arthur Clarence and Grace Elmyre Helms; her siblings, Alfreda Pearl Routh, Louise Jane Anderson, David Lee Helms, Albert David Helms and Arthur James Helms; her grandson William Richard Bracken; and her sons-in-law, William Bracken Sr. and Lee Smith.

She is survived by: her children, Yavonne Sue Buford (Hershel), Elmyere Diane Smith, Ernest Wayne Holeyfield (Cheryl) and Charles Junior Holeyfield (Eunok); her siblings, Joseph Dale Helms (Audrey) and Mary Ann Gelven (Kenneth); her grandchildren, David Buford (Teresa), Shawn Buford (Linda), Eric Holeyfield (Serenity), Monica Montero (Alex) and Laura Stevens; and her stepgrandchildren, David Smith (Rene), Michael Smith and Danielle Dowden (Randy). She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
