He is survived by: his former spouse Beverly Jo Salter; his wife Inez Williams Merritt; his son Roger; his daughter-in-law Karen Merritt; his daughter Sheryl; his son-in-law Roy Culpepper; his grandchildren, Clint (Sarah Morris), Krista (Gary Boston), Jared Merritt, Amanda Merritt and Kalli Culpepper (Jenna Culpepper); and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Brooklyn and Braden Morris.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Princeton Baptist Church.
