He was predeceased by: his parents, Scuddy Bourgeois and Carrie Mae Boudreaux Bourgeois; his stepmother Ella Delaune Bourgeois; and his brother Bobby David. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Prothro Bourgeois; his sisters, Betty David Falgout (Elmo) and Ellen Bourgeois Ledet; his sister-in-law Elsie David; his children, Ray, Kirby (Jenny), James Bourgeois (Annette), Susan Joffrion (Todd) and Carrie Onellion (Damon); and his stepchildren, Danny Poole (Teri) and Toni Weatherman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
