He was predeceased by: his wife Estelle Dougherty Smiley; his parents, Juste Smiley and Alcaidia Smiley; his siblings, Eries Mae "C. C." Roberston and Luther "Man" Smiley; and his grandmother Teen.
He is survived by: his sons, Juste "Jimmie" Smiley, Dennis Smiley and Larry Smiley; his sister Yvonne "Bonnie" Laiche; his nephew Gary Laiche; and his niece Rebecca Brown.
