Morris Allen Jackson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Morris Allen Jackson (Prairieville, Louisiana), who passed away on May 14, 2018, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Precious in the sight of The Lord is the death of His saints." Psalm 116:15 - Morris Allen Jackson (PawPaw) was born on April 14, 1931, in Amite County, Mississippi to Ernest and Lena Jackson. On May 14, 2018, surrounded by his family, he went to be with His Savior, Jesus and his beloved bride, Georgene Perry Jackson. He made it just in time to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary on May 25th. He was a husband, daddy and a very much adored PawPaw to not only his biological grandchildren, but to many, many others who knew and loved him. He was the sweetest and definitely the cutest PawPaw you ever did see. Although he had many jobs along the way, two were very dear to his heart; owning the Zachary Texaco Service Station, and driving a truck for Amoco Oil Co. He loved to reminisce about his days on the road and he was known for sporting that bright green trucker hat. PawPaw is survived by his brother Bobby Saucier, his children and their spouses; Adrian and Brenda Jackson of Prairieville, La and Marcia (Marc as he lovingly called her) and Jimbo Howard, of Zachary, La; his grandchildren and their spouses; Kelly Jackson, Amy and Ricardo Agra, Lacey and Todd Lobell, Blaine and Jim Imhoff, Laryn and Jeremy Rayburn, Laremy and Brittany Howard; and the light of his life and bright spot in his days, his great-grandchildren; Ella and Addison Kriger, Landon Glascock, Juliette and Ricardo Agra, Beau, Cavin and Georgie-Drew Lobell, Tucker Cox, Ethan Rayburn, J.P. and Whatley Imhoff and Rylan Kimble. PawPaw was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his siblings; Jack, Hazel, Myrtle, Jewel, Nita , Paul and David. Pall Bearers will be Laremy Howard, Todd Lobell, Greg Perry, Steve Perry, Mike Perry, Shannon Boykin and Dale Boykin. The arrangements are as follows: Visitation on Thursday, May 17 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Friday May 18, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster, Ms., officiated by Rev. Les Colvin and Rev. Paul Ballard. Burial will be at Mars Hill Church in Perrytown, MS. To know our PawPaw was to love him, and he was oh so very loved. We are eternally grateful to the staff at Grace Rehab in Slaughter for the wonderful care they provided him over the last year and a half. We are especially grateful to Jess Stott, Lakesha Dunn, Jeania Jackson, Maria Anthony, Erica Carr, Janice Jackson and Shawanda Powell for not only taking excellent care of him, but for truly adopting him as their very own "PawPaw." We would also like to thank all of the Dr.'s, nurses and CNA's at the Carpenter House of Baton Rouge for the sweetest care during his final days. The peace of Jesus, that surpasses all understanding was with us the entire time, and for that we are forever thankful. In lieu of flowers, please hug a loved one and take a moment to express the value they bring to your life.
