He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Bumpurs and Estelle McBreyer Bumpurs; his daughter Sheri B. Thompson; and his siblings, Martha Ann Dupuy and Carlos N. Bumpurs.

He is survived by: his wife Cindy N. Bumpurs; his daughters, Cynthia B. Wallace and Nina M. Fanning; his son-in-law Tim Thompson; and his brother Douglas Bumpurs (Althea). He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
