He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Fruge and Evelyn Dupuy; and his brother-in-law Charles E. Williams, II. He is survived by: his wife Ruby Joyce Stagg Fruge of Port Barre; his children, Doug Fruge (Tracy) of Humble, TX, Alan Fruge (Nora) of Warren, TX, Scott Fruge (Tammy) of Port Barre and Melodie Fontenot (Jason) of Lubbock, TX; his grandchildren, Jonathan Fruge, Brendan Fruge, Andrew Fruge, Jacob Fruge, Hanna F. Andrews, Christopher Fruge, Courtney Fontenot, Seth Paul Fontenot, Judson Fontenot, Colin Fruge, Marissa Fruge and Lee Lee Jayne Fontenot; his great grandchildren, Ezra Fruge, Parker Fruge, Olivia Fruge, Sydney Fontenot, Lana Fruge, Elijah Fruge, Aayden Andrews, Josiah Fruge, Ethan Fontenot, Charlotte Fruge, Asher Scott Fruge and Shirley Joyce Fruge; his sister Jeraldine F. Williams of Opelousas; his nephews, Charles Edwards Williams, III, Michael Roy Williams and Kim Lee Williams; and his grandson Hayden Fontenot.
