He was predeceased by: his parents, Anna Delores Howard and James Russell; and his brothers, James "Bub", Harold, Bobby, Winston and Richard Russell.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Joan Johnson, Donna Russell Dodds (Gerald), William Gerald Russell (Letty) and Michael Stephen Russell (Pamela); and his grandchildren, Stephen, Jason, Craig, Tara, Kelly, Courtney, Whitney, Hollen, Justin, Drew, Raynee, Hailey, Sonny and Stephanie. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
