He was predeceased by: his son Kenneth Allen; his parents, Mary Rose and James Frank Allen Sr.; and his siblings, Betty Hebert, Merlin Allen and Robert Allen.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Wood Allen; his children, Lynn Johnson, Cheryl Bolotte (Craig), Gayle Choojitarom (Thira), Janet Ritzmann and Wayne Allen (Amy); his grandchildren, Craig, Darren, Colin Johnson, Megan, Marian Allen, Ryan, Jared, Olivia Bolotte, Ethan Choojitarom and Spencer Ritzmann; and his brothers, Virgil Allen (June) and Melvin Allen (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
