He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Claude and Minnie Lerline Dean Phelps; his wife Sybil B. Phelps; and his grandson Daniel Tyler Phelps. He is survived by: his son Claud E. Phelps, Jr. (Jill); his grandchildren, Ava P. Basso (Mark), Kristi M. Basso, Emily B. Bennett (Travis), Tyler Jarres, Samuel Bryant Phelps and Tana Grace Cashio; his sisters, Edna P. Lee and Faye P. Powell (Wendell); and his siblings-in-law, Rose Bush, Alice Toohill, Vivian B. Douglass (Carl), Cathryn Bush, Joe Bush (Kay) and Wayne Bush (Carmen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to The Gideons International to purchase Bibles and spread the gospel, a cause which was dear to Claud's heart.
