She was predeceased by: her parents, William Welch and Ellen Jones Sutherland Welch; her husband Walter Parker Sr.; and her siblings, Ione Jannie Sutherland, Betty Schafer and Nolan Sutherland.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Elizabeth Parker Core (George), Walter Lee Parker Jr. (Shirley) and David William Parker; and her grandchildren, Joice Ellen Holden (Jeremy), Estelle Irene McCarty (Wes), Harriet Chamberlain (Jeremiah), Walter Lee Parker, III (Katie), Stephen David Parker (Tiffany) and Marc William Parker (Kristy). She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula for the Louisiana Children's Home.
