He was predeceased by: his parents, George Hemphill and Barbara Hemphill; his son James Hemphill; and his sister Gloria Holcknecht. He is survived by: his wife Geneva Harvey-Hemphill of Ball; and his children, Renee LaCaze (Randy) of Sterlington, Shawnee Chason (Andy) of Sterlington, Rebecca Dunbar (James) of Oak Grove, Jennifer Harvey-Pederson (Stephen) of Shreveport and Bobby Hemphill (Kimberly) of Oak Grove. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
