He is survived by: his wife Betty Brown Rockforte; his children, Judy Gonzales (Donald), Joseph Jr. (Susan), Janis and Billy (Mona Busby); his grandchildren, Tiffany Vincent (Karnell), Misty Millet, Shane Champagne, Sean Champagne, Tyler Rockforte (Ashley) and Brandon Rockforte; his stepsons, Bruce, Byron and Blane Tullier; and his son-in-law Mitchell Champagne. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
