He was predeceased by: his wife Vivian Budd Banta; his parents, Albert, Sr. and Sybil Morrison Banta; and his sister Margaret Banta Bourgoyne. He is survived by: his children, Roxanna Brackin (Rhett), Gina Landry (Joey), Laurie Peltier (Larry) and Harry "Gil" Banta, Jr.; his grandchildren, Ryan Peltier (Doris), Jennifer Landry (Dustin), Josh Landry and Landa Aillet (Spencer); his great grandchildren, Mark Peltier, Nick Peltier, Calise, Cinclare, Kennan Landry and Vivienne Aillet; his daughter-in-law Connie Rodriguez Banta; his daughters, Janae and Brooke; his brother Albert Banta, Jr.; and his wife Mia.
