He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joe Webb and Georgia Webb; his brothers, Eddie Ray "Cheese" Webb and John Arthur Webb; his wife Carolyn Player; his grandchildren, Quamel Adreon Webb, James Gregory Stumon II, Jada Mone Stumon, Amarria Naveah Stoner, Ruben Lawrence Metoyer, Jr. and Titan Avery Metoyer; and his sisters, Dr. Betty Jo Webb and Athelene "Honey" Webb Watson. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

“In loving memory of James Webb, Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. James and I were very good friends , we stayed in contact with each other on a consistent basis. I always visited him when I was in town and no matter what time of the day he would welcome me to stop by. I will really miss him. We would talk on the phone at least an hour each time I call.
