She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Smith and Hazel Smith; her husband William D. Garrett; and her son John Richard Funderburk. She is survived by: her children, Lester Garrett (Melisa) of Winnsboro, Judy Funderburk of Deville, Suyan Shelton of Birmingham, AL. and Joetta Garrett (Marc) of Natchitoches; and her siblings, C. E. Smith (Debbie) of Baton Rouge, Yvonne Stark of Tioga, Lana Rhinehart (Glenn) of Lafayette, Donna Hansen (Matt) of San Antonio, TX., Ann Stewart (Jack) of Kentucky, Rhetta Clemons (Mark) of Florissant, CO. and Tamea Hollier (Elliot) of Opelousas. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
