In loving memory of Marilyne E. Vanek (Pineville, Louisiana), born in Claremont, New Hampshire, who departed this world on October 31, 2024 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her husband Sgt. Donald J. Vanek; her parents, Hiram Hawkins and Lola Wells Hawkins; her siblings, Ralph Hawkins, Myrtle Page and Frances Alletson; her grandson Brandon Pentecost; and her son-in-law George Tarver.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Vanek, Lynn Vanek Tarver and Laura Ann Moran (Charles); her sister Betty Lou Guilford; her granddaughters, Rhonda Gaspard (David) and Kristina Vanek Barcenas (Alex); and her great grandchildren, Slayter Barcenas and Kade Barcenas.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers (2701 Military Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project and hurricane Helene disaster relief fund.
