He is survived by: his children, Richard Oates (Joni) of Pineville, Craig Oates (Sandi) of Crescent City, Florida, Charlotte Oates Smith (Marty) of Pineville and Khristi Oates of Pineville; his grandchildren, Richard Oates, Jr., Davis Oates, Westin Oates, Jeremy Randolph, MacKenzie Carter (Alex), Kennady Speir, Kelsie Guillott, Amanda Waters (Jason) and Casey Beach (Daniel); his great grandchildren, Jason Waters, Jr., Hailey Waters, Marlee Elliott and Sadie Belgard; his siblings, Robert Oates (Trudy) of Cabot, Arkansas and Elsie Marie Smith of Deville; and his niece Tammy Lynn Hall (Bob).
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Rush Funeral Home - Pineville (3307 Monroe Hwy, Pineville, LA 71360). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
