He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Jo Holder; his wife Jewel Holder; his daughter Adeana Hardin; his grandson Christopher Hardin; and his parents, George Boyd and Hattie Jane Holder.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nyana Duck (Bruce) of Alexandria and Brenda Maxson (Howard) of New York. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.
