He was predeceased by: his parents, John Delta and Thelma Ardoin McDaniel; his son John Richard McDaniel; and his siblings, Terry McDaniel and Rhonda.

He is survived by: his wife Velma McDaniel of Pine Prairie; his siblings, Johnny McDaniel of Baycliff, TX and Jossette Williams of Pasadena; his grandchildren, Dustin McDaniel, Natalie McDaniel, Zach McDaniel and Sarah Ademek (Taylor); and his great grandchildren, Kohen McDaniel and Jordan.
