He was predeceased by: his wife Lucy B. Fontenot; his parents, Seause Fontenot and Amy Fontenot; his siblings, Earl Fontenot, Jimmy Fontenot, Edley Fontenot, Nelson Fontenot, Herbert Fontenot, Kermy Fontenot, Leona F. Guillory and Hazel F. Orgeron; and his nephew James Catoire.
He is survived by: his caregiver Beatrice Catoire of Pine Prairie; his son Johnny Gilliot (Cynthia) of Eunice; and his siblings, Bennett Fontenot of Lake Charles and Nina Fontenot of Lake Charles.
