He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lamke and Gertie Lamke; his brothers, Alden Lamke and Verdon Lamke; and his grandson Joshua Johnston.
He is survived by: his children, James Lamke, Jr. of Pine Prairie, Kent Lamke of Pine Prairie, Hattie Johnston (Jerome) of Pine Prairie, Ginean Lamke Pitre of Pine Prairie and Rachel Carroll (Jamie) of Pine Prairie; and his brothers, Burton Lamke of Pine Prairie, Robert Lamke (Betty) of Port Barre and Ray Lamke (Jay) of Ville Platte. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
