He is survived by: his wife Bertha Fontenot Verrett of Stephensville; his children, Melvin Verrett Jr. (Gina Gros Verrett) of Lafayette, Sandra Verrett Breaux (Nelson) of Pierre Part and Sherry Verrett Metrejean (Albert) of Pierre Part; his grandchildren, Brandon Verrett, Brandy Verrett, Krystal Verret (Jordan), Ernie Henry, Dustin Verrett, Joshua Breaux, Misty Landry, Zachary Metrejean (Hannah) and Kristen Metrejean (Cody); and his great grandchildren, Ashton, Alex Verrett, Kai, Rylee Verret, Cain Terry, Jaxson Breaux, Mia, Tripp Landry, Madison and Wes Watson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
