He was predeceased by: his parents, N. B. Key and Eloise Barnes Key; his siblings, Rebecka Key and Nathan Key; and his niece Misty Bridges.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Garcia Key; his son Nicholas Key (Linda); his grandson Paul Nicolas Key; his nieces and nephews, Betty Jo Collin, Truitt Key and Dusty Smith; his brother John Key (Beverly); and also, Christina and Gina Godfrey. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.

“Dear Maruja and family. We were saddened to hear of Paul's passing. Paul and I worked together 50+ years ago at Torrejon AB, Spain and I attended his wedding to his fine wife, Maruja, in 1969. We have since gotten together and enjoyed lunches in Mississippi together with our wives. I've also had regular Zoom calls with Paul over the past few years. He will be missed. With love, Don and Kathy Heerkens”
