He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Shaw Simmons; his children, Richard Eugene Simmons, Deloris Simmons Kaufmann (Michael) and John "Bubba" Simmons; his parent Lucille Campbell Simmons; his siblings, Edie Moorhead, Bonnie Burch (Tom) and Nita Padgett (Ron); his grandchildren, Jean Kaufmann, Michael Kaufmann, Jada Kaufmann, Jared Kaufmann, Donna Kaufmann, Julian Kaufmann, Joshua Kaufmann, Victoria Kaufmann, Gabriella Kaufmann and Issabella Kaufmann; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Kaci, Rowan, Ayden, Poppy, Timothy, London, Carter, Luke, Gabriel, Jacob and Rebekah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
