He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin B. Vilo, Jr. and Ethel Hawkins Vilo; and his sister Carolyn Vilo Augman. He is survived by: his wife Veronica Lynn Vilo; his children, Shamika Vilo (Earnest Ware) of Lafayette, LA, Donald Vilo, Jr. (Alexia Rossyion) of Lafayette, LA, Austin Vilo, II (Shantelle Roberts) of Lafayette, LA and Alegra Vilo of Morgan City, LA; his siblings, Cheryl Vilo of Lafayette, LA, Cynthia Vilo of Patterson, LA, Denise Broussard of Patterson, LA, Marion Gibbs of Lake Charles, LA and Shirley Vilo of Chicago; his aunt Diane Johnson of Patterson, LA; and his uncle Dr. James Valeau (Vilo). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, LA, from 9:00 AM until funeral services beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Patrick T. Jones, officiating. (Per CDC requirement/local regulations everyone is required to wear face masks upon entering into the building at all times).
