She was predeceased by: her former husband Byron Schaubhut; her son-in-law Ron Dufrene; and her grandparents, Aleven, Odette Foret, Amos and Virginia Dufrene.
She is survived by: her husband Richard T. McCarter; her children, Jeanie Schaubhut Dufrene, Phoebe Schaubhut Foss (Carl H. Foss, IV) and Aaron Lee Schaubhut (Gabby Lee Schaubhut); her grandchildren, Hunter James Dufrene, Mackenzie Grace Dufrene, Carl H. Foss V, Taylor Ann Foss and Parker Elise Schaubhut; her parents, Walter "Butsy" A. Dufrene and Laura Foret Dufrene; and her siblings, Brenda Dufrene Baudoin (Toby), Charlene Dufrene Comardelle (Jan), Tammy Dufrene Savoie (Ricky), Jason Dufrene (Dawn) and Suzette Bourgeois Bartnesky (Mark).
