He was predeceased by: his daughter Trameka Austin; and his parents, William Austin, Sr. and Isabella Young Austin. He is survived by: his wife Ida Mae Austin of Opelousas; his children, William Austin, III of Lafayette, Angellia Nelson (Harold) of Germany and Dionne Austin of Katy, TX; his stepson Nathaniel Babineaux of Opelousas; and his siblings, Sandra Bythewood, Cynthia Austin, Dianne Hardy (Halbert Sr.), Troy Austin Sr. (Carolyn), Joseph Austin (Theresa), Vern Guidry (Alvin Ray), Johnny Austin (Martha), Pearl Turner (Ernest), Jude Austin, I (Lorraine) and Shirley Austin-Grimes. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five step grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (1610 Evangeline Rd, Jennings, LA 70546).
